(BEDFORD) - Chief Deputy of the Lawrence County Police Department Mike Branham has withdrawn his candidacy for Lawrence County Council At-Large.

Branham wants to thank the voters for their support over the last three elections and 12 years he served as councilman.

He decided to withdrawn his candidacy so he give his full attention, time and commitment to the sheriff's department.

Branham says he is confident in the voters of Lawrence County and the other qualified candidates who have filed for the position.

He believes voters will make the right decision when they choice the right Republican to replace him on the council.
