Juvenile Home To Be Named For Judge

Last updated on Wednesday, February 15, 2012

(BROWNSTOWN) - The juvenile home in Brownstown will be named after the former Jackson County Circuit Court Judge Robert R. Brown.

Brown died Sept. 12 at the age of 78.

The proposal was announced at a county commissioners meeting.

Brown was instrumental in establishing the juvenile home on county owned property in Brownstown. The mission of the home, which opened in 1979, is to help troubled youth, with the goal of returning them to their own homes.

The juvenile home board of directors plan to celebrate the name change with an open house later this year when a renovation project is complete.
