Jurors Could Decide Vandeventer Fate Today

Last updated on Thursday, February 16, 2012

(BLOOMFIELD) - Jurors heard testimony from several of Randall Vandeventor’s alleged victims.

The incidents happened at a daycare center in Switz City that was owned by Vandeventer and his wife Lia.

Vandeventer is charged with six felony counts of child molesting. The jury is expected to get the case for deliberation sometime this morning.

A 17-year-old boy testified he was molested by Vandeventer from the age of 5 until he was 13 years old while he attended the tiny town daycare center in Switz City just south of the White River Valley Junior Senior High School on Ind. 54.

One victim testified he was molested more than 200 times by the defendant in an eight-year period.

A female victim also testified. Vandeventer is currently an inmate at the new castle correctional facility following a conviction last year for child seduction in an unrelated case involving a teenager.

Some of the incidents are alleged to have taken place at the daycare center and at the Vandeventer's residence, located about a block away.

The alleged incidents involved touching, being touched and other methods of sexual deviant conduct by Vandeventer in the kitchen and basement at the daycare center and in the bathroom at the Vandeventer residence.
