Body Found In River May Be Missing Kentucky Man

Last updated on Tuesday, February 28, 2012

(VEVAY) - Police say a body found near the Ohio River, in Vevay, is that of a Kentucky man who went missing December 2010 after a boating accident.

A man looking for deer antlers in the river bottom area found the body Sunday night about a half-mile east of Vevay.

The body is believed to be that of 20-year-old Justin Hearn of Worthville, Kentucky, who was hunting waterfowl with two friends on December 13, 2010, when their boat was involved in a mishap. The body was found about seven miles downstream of that accident site.

Indiana Conservation Officer Chris Powell says the body's clothing matches that which Hearn was wearing when he vanished. The body was scheduled to be moved Monday to Hamilton, Ohio, for an autopsy and positive identification.
