Worthington Man Faces Charges After Running From Police

(WORTHINGTON) - 21-year-old Michael Edmonson, of Worthington is facing charges of auto theft, resisting law enforcement in a vehicle, battery on a police officer, reckless driving, criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident.

According to police reports two off-duty officers saw the 2005 Kia reported stolen Saturday from Linton at the intersection of Main Street and state Road 57 in Worthington.

The driver was doing donuts in the vehicle and hit a street sign. The officers notified Worthington Police. When they arrived, Edmonson fled in the vehicle. He was spotted by Jasonville officers on State Road 48 and there was a short chase.

Edmonson then exited the Kia and ran into a wooded area, with police following. He was stopped near Ohio Street, where he fought with police and kicked one officer in the leg.

Worthington and Jasonville police were assisted by Linton Police and Indiana State Police.
