Last updated on Friday, January 27, 2012

(BLOOMFIELD) - 29-year-old Crystal Curnett, has been moved to the Rockville Correctional Facility for women in Parke County until her trial after she assaulted Greene County jail staff members for a second time in the last three months.

Curnett is accused of assaulting two male jail officers on Tuesday at 12:46 p.m. while officers were attempting to move her from a holding cell, according to a probable cause affidavit.

During the scuffle, Curnett pushed one of the officers into a cell door and head butted him and scratched his cheek and neck by clawing him with her fingernails.

She also grabbed another officer's glasses and bent them to the point where they could no longer be worn. The officer suffered scratches to his arm and Curnett allegedly punched him in the face, as he was trying to assisting the other officer who was struggling with Curnett.

That is when a third officer arrived and at this point Curnett was sitting on the floor outside of the cell. The officer directed her to get into the cell, but again she refused and began fighting and threatening to kill officers.

Curnett was charged with two counts of battery resulting in bodily injury with the victim being a jail facility employee and criminal mischief.

The woman was in a similar struggle in mid November with two other jail officers that incident was over moving curnett from one cell to another. She was charged with two counts of battery with injury to a law enforcement officer in that case.

Curnett was originally jailed on charges resulting from a July altercation at a Jasonville home where she allegedly punched and strangled a woman, stabbed a man in the hand and then confined him in the house at knife point for more than two hours. She is to appear in court on Jan. 30 on multiple charges in that case.
