(UNDATED) - More construction is set to begin on I-69 in Greene and Monroe Counties.
The Indiana Department of Transportation awarded the contract to Milestone Contractors, LP.
The cost is 16% below the engineer's estimate.
The construction includes 4.7 miles of I-69 from SR 45 to Carmichael Road, an interchange at SR 45, an overpass at SR 54, and intersection improvements at SR 45/445.
This section of I-69 is scheduled to open in 2014.
INDOT says that of the eighteen I-69 construction contracts, fourteen have been awarded to Indiana firms.
