(MONTGOMERY) - A traffic stop for an expired license plate lead to the discovery of a meth lab and the arrest of 21-year-old James Colin Truelove, of Montgomery.
Indiana State Police stopped Truelove Thursday night on State Road 57 at Main Street in Washington, because his Ford Ranger had an expired license plate.
Police learned Truelove's driver's license was suspended as a habitual traffic violator. He was arrested and police searched his vehicle. There they found an active methamphetamine lab. They also found a small quantity of meth, 40 pseudoephedrine tablets, as well as marijuana.
The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team responded to the scene to analyze and dispose of the hazardous materials and Truelove was transported to the Daviess County Jail.
Truelove was charged with: manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, operating while habitual traffic violator, possession of precursors, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, operating while intoxicated-controlled substance (refusal).
