Heritage Reunion To Replace Lotus Dickey Music Celebration

Last updated on Monday, January 23, 2012

(ORLEANS) - The new Heritage Reunion will replace the Lotus Dickey music celebration. Many musicians will now participate in the new Orange County Music and Heritage Reunion.

The first event will take place on June 8-10th on the square in Orleans, which is the same location as the most recent Lotus Dickey Reunions and coincides with the timing of the previous event.

The event will feature the same love of acoustic and old-time music. Two stages will feature local and regional musicians, many regulars and some new. A jammers area also will be included.

There will also be old-time domestic textile arts, like spinning and tatting and blacksmithing and other event like pioneer games. There will also be a farmer's market.

The planning team is developing a website for the event and anyone interested in participating can email musicandheritagereunion@gmail.com.

Current members of the planning team are Bob Turner, of Baleene; Mark Anderson and Marjorie Baker, of Bedford; James Beasley, of Mitchell; Marty Shelton, of Paoli; Judith Burton, Robert Henderson, Ernie Sluss and Wendy and Simon Springle, all of Orleans. Others wanting to assist can email the above address.

The planning group will meet monthly.
