(ORANGE COUNTY) - As organizers of the Orange County HomeGrown farmers’ markets look ahead to the new season, a new market manager has been hired to guide the popular weekly events in Orleans and French Lick.
Plans also are being developed to add a third weekly market in Paoli.
Kimberly Arnold has been hired to take the helm. She replaces Laura Gazarian who, according to Orange County HomeGrown's Bob Turner, resigned to take another job.
Arnold will not be the only person who is new to guiding the weekly events. Ali Wilson, who had served as event and volunteer coordinator, will remain as a volunteer, but has decided to continue her education. Arnold says they are in the process of finding someone to fill the position. The positions are funded on a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture.
The first of the 2012 farmers' markets will open in 16 weeks, according to Orange County HomeGrown. Plans are being developed for the new market in Paoli and will be held on Thursdays. The starting date, times and location have not been determined.
The Springs Valley-area market, which takes place on Tuesdays, will begin May 15 and the Saturday morning market will open in Orleans May 19.
