(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Uplands Economic Development Corp. will offer assistance on winter heating bills for low income residents of Lawrence, Orange, Martin and Washington counties who haven't received benefits this heating season through the mail-in application process.
This service is provided through the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Block grant, a federally funded block grant through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Hoosier Uplands is accepting applications for this program. All services are provided without regard to race, age, color, religion, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry or status as a veteran
To schedule an appointment, call the office in the county where you reside. All applicants must apply in their county of residence. Applicants will then be assigned an appointment date and time.

Eligibility for the program is limited to those households with a confirmed income at or below 150 percent of Management and Budget Poverty guidelines.
