Rumble Strips Problem At Bartlettsville Road Intersection

Last updated on Wednesday, December 7, 2011

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Firefighter Jeff Key has concerns with the rumble strips at the intersection of Bartlettsville and Wallner Quarry roads.

Key said there has to be a better solution to alert motorists to the dangers of the intersection besides rumble strips.

Commissioner Dave Flinn said the commissioners are looking at addressing the issue.

Flinn said road crews were not used to making rumble strips and on the first pass the strips were not cut deep enough, however, when a second pass was made, the strips became too deep.

Another concern is motorists are driving around the strips and that could cause an accident. The commissioners plan to have the strips fixed or possibly looking into an alternative to the strips.
