Outgoing Mayor Patti Jones To Be Honored At Party

Last updated on Tuesday, December 27, 2011

(LINTON) - Outgoing Linton Mayor Patti Jones will be honored with a party on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at City Hall. Cake and punch will be served.

Patti Jones became mayor when her husband, Tom Jones, passed away on March 3.

John Wilkes, who resigned his County Council presidency upon assuming the mayor's office, plans to open his swearing-in ceremony, slated for noon on Dec. 3 at the Linton City Fire Station.

That ceremony will be open to the public, and has been moved to the station to allow Wilkes' supporters and former colleagues on the county council to attend.

Hot dogs and chips will be served during the swearing-in ceremony, which will also welcome new Councilmen Fred Markle and Jathan Wright, as well as welcoming back returning incumbents.
