Missing Bloomington Woman Found Dead At Lake Monroe

(BLOOMINGTON) - The body of 81-year-old Norma Jean Prince was pulled from her vehicle which was discovered in Lake Monroe Monday morning.

Monroe County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Mike Pershing said Prince's 1989 blue Buick La Saver was found on the south end of the Salt Creek Boat Ramp.

The submerged car was spotted by John Swigler, who was fishing in the area. Swigler found the car as he was launching his boat.

The sheriff's office issued a Silver Alert for Prince Sunday evening. Police said she was last seen around 6 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart on State Road 45 in Bloomington.

An autopsy will be conducted today in Terre Haute to determine the official cause of death.

Assisting at the scene were personnel from Perry Clear Creek Fire Department and officers from the Department of Natural Resources.
