Last updated on Wednesday, December 21, 2011

(LINTON) - A convicted child molester was arrested Monday in Linton because he failed to register as a sex offender, as required by state law.

41-year-old Timothy V. Pottorff, a resident of Roosevelt Mission on Vincennes Street, was arrested by Linton Police and taken to the Greene County Jail in Bloomfield. He is being held without bond until he appears in court.

The Linton Police Department was alerted by Greene County Sheriff's Department Sex and Violent Offender Registry Clerk Denise Andrew that Pottorff had not registered in this county.

Pottorff is originally from Loogootee in Martin County and had recently started living at the homeless shelter.

Pottorff was convicted March 28, 2003 in Daviess County on a child molesting charge. He was sentenced to six years. He sent four years in jail and was released Aug. 18, 2004.
