Four Paoli Residents Arrested After Cocaine Found In Home

(PAOLI) - Four people were arrested on drug charges Wednesday morning after Indiana State Police troopers served a search warrant at a home on West Slaten Drive in Paoli.

Trooper Shane Staggs initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information of possible drug activity at 491 W. Slaten Drive, Paoli. When police arrived there were four individuals in the house. Police also found cocaine and other drug paraphernalia commonly associated with the use and distribution of drugs.

Arrested were:
* Jerid Bennett, 25, 491 W. Slaten Drive, Paoli, dealing cocaine, a Class B felony; possession of cocaine, a Class D felony; possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, a Class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor

* Trevor Bennett, 28, Paoli, possession of cocaine, a Class D felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor

* Robert Smith, 23, Paoli, visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor

* Marissa Piper, 20, Paoli, visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor
Police said all four were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Orange County Jail.

Assisting at the scene were officers from the Orange County Sheriff's Department and Paoli Police Department, executed a search warrant.
