(BLOOMINGTON) - Police arrested 26-year-old Samantha Sue Lindsey, of Bloomington, in the lobby of the county prosecutor’s office on Wednesday after an investigator called police to report she appeared intoxicated and was nodding off. The woman told police she had smoked methamphetamine.
She was booked into the Monroe County Jail at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia and public intoxication. She was also wanted on an arrest warrant for a felony charge of theft.
Lindsey told police that she had not been drinking, but had smoked methamphetamine recently, according to Sgt. Jeff Canada. While under arrest, she asked police to speak to the managers of the hotel where she has been staying, to tell them she would not be able to pay her rent or gather her belongings.
Once at the woman's hotel room on the 1700 block of North Walnut Street, police found a black case containing six syringes, a mirror with a powdery residue, a burnt spoon on the bed, a glass pipe, several loose pills and a bag that tested positive for methamphetamine, Canada said.
