(SCOTLAND) - The Four people that were hurt in a head-on crash Monday afternoon on U.S. 231 near the Greene-Daviess county line remain hospitalized in Indianapolis.

The accident happened just south of the Interstate 69 construction site and northwest of Crane Naval Support Activity Complex on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Greene County Sheriff Terry Pierce, 50-year-old Alan D. Willis, of Camby, was traveling north in a 1996 Ford F-150 when he drove left of the center line and hit a southbound 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup head on. The other truck was driven by Lorita Taylor, of Loogootee.

Both drivers and their passengers were taken by helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

No condition was available on Willis because he was in surgery late Tuesday, according to a hospital spokesperson.

A passenger in Willis' truck; 40-year-old Stacey Buchanan, of Camby; is the intensive care unit listed in serious condition.

Lorita Taylor is listed in critical condition. Her passenger 44-year-old Gregory Taylor is listed in good condition.

All four were trapped in their respective vehicles, according to Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Curt Durnil.

Sheriff Pierce says the wreck may result in criminal charges being filed, but he did not want to speculate until results of medical tests are received.
