(SALEM) - A Salem woman is accused of impersonating a Clark County doctor in order to illegally obtain Hydrocodone.
31-year-old Vicki Martin, was arrested at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Salem when she arrived to pick up a prescription, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
She was charged obtaining a controlled substance by fraud and illegal possession of a controlled substance. A woman called in a Hydrocodone prescription for Martin at the pharmacy, allegedly pretending to be an employee of a Clark County practitioner's office. The pharmacist called the practitioner and learned their office had not called in the prescription and Martin was not their patient.
The doctor's office called the state police and Salem Police Department to report the fraud. Martin was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.
