(PAOLI) - More than 360 children's names have been submitted to the Orange County Sheriff's Department as potential recipients of the annual Clothe-A-Child program sponsored by law enforcement agencies.

The names are expected to surpass 400.

On an average year the department would receive between 200 to 250 names, but because of the increase in names some children will be turned away.

Orange County Sheriff Richard Dixon says the poor economy is why the list increased this year. He says people cannot afford the basic items that their family needs.

The department is in the process of determining who will be included this year and who will have to be turned away. The generosity of citizens and businesses in Orange County will allow officers to help several children, but not all of them.

Donations can be dropped off or mailed to the Orange County Sheriff's Department on East Main Street in Paoli.
