Linton-Stockton High School Receives Bomb Threat

Last updated on Tuesday, November 8, 2011

(LINTON) - Linton-Stockton High School students remained in their period 2 classes the entire day Monday.

They remained in their period 2 classes because the school was placed in lockdown mode at around 9 a.m.

Linton-Stockton Superintendent Nick Karazsia said he was notified a little before 9 a.m. of a bomb threat at the school. He couldn't give details on what the threat said or how it was received because it could compromise the investigation of Linton-Stockton High School and Linton Police Department.

The K-9 bomb unit from NSWC Crane came to the school to search the inside and outside of the building, and found nothing. Crane asked staff to do a preliminary search of the building also. Teachers broke up into teams and searched the high school and junior high areas and found nothing out of the ordinary. The search of the high school took a couple of hours because the dogs searched everywhere.

The school remained on lockdown the rest of the day. The incident is still under investigation.
