Jasonville Fire Chief Suspended After Verbal Confrontation

Last updated on Wednesday, November 2, 2011

(JASONVILLE) - Jasonville Fire Chief Harold “Pude” Keller has been suspended for 30 days from his duties as chief of the volunteer fire department by Mayor Roy Terrell.

Keller was suspended because he got into a heated verbal confrontation with a man on Oct. 25 in the parking lot of Pizza Villa, located on East Main Street in Jasonville.

Mayor Terrell says Keller did not use good judgement, but would not discuss the details about the argument. He did say the altercation did not get physical.

Keller has been fire chief since March 2003, and a member of the department for more than 30 years. He is also the Jasonville Street Department superintendent; the disciplinary action will not affect that position.

Assistant Chief Darren Sluder will handle Keller's duties during his suspension period.
