Fire Destroys Linton Home

Last updated on Thursday, November 3, 2011

(LINTON) - The home of J. Kevin Wright, of rural Linton, was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon despite the efforts of four fire departments.

Firefighters were called about 1 p.m. to the home on State Road 48, about a half mile east of Jasonville.

The home was being rented by Raymond and Jack Lemasters, who were in the process of moving, according to Wright Township Fire Chief Jack Wilson.

The one-story frame house had a good start before firefighters arrived. The house was engulfed when the fire was called in and flames were coming out the windows when firefighters arrived. Wilson said there was not much they could do to save the home.

Wilson says the cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.
