Bloomington Woman Arrested After Stealing Aunts Credit Card

Last updated on Thursday, November 3, 2011

(UNDATED) - 33-year-old Jessica Cantrell, of Bloomington, was arrested and charged with theft after she allegedly stole a credit card and cash from her aunt Linda Kavanaugh, of Linton.

Cantrell, formerly of Linton, was arrested last month by Bloomington Police on a Greene County writ of attachment and taken to the Monroe County Jail on Oct. 10. A writ of attachment is a court order to "attach" or seize an asset. It is issued by a court to a law enforcement officer or sheriff.

When booked into the jail they found a JC Penney's credit card belonging to Kavanaugh. Greene County Police were notified and Cavanaugh told police that Cantrell had recently spent the night at her house and the next day she noticed $40 in cash and the credit card missing from her purse.
