Last updated on Monday, October 24, 2011

(AVOCA) - Carrie Kirk and Curt Hackler are offering a reward to anyone who gives them information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot an killed their beagle and injured two other dogs.

The reward is currently at $1,500.

The shooting happened at their home on Teddy Bird Lane last week.

The three dogs were in a pen at the home that Hackler and Kirk are remolding and planning to move into.

Hackler had just finishing building a pen for the dogs and they had only been at the home one day when they were shot in the head with a small-caliber gun.

Their beagle, Pugsley died. Barney, a lab, is doing better, but if his condition does not improve he will have to be euthanized. Taffy, a retriever is expected to recover. The dogs are at the Bedford Veterinarian Clinic.

Lawrence County Chief Deputy Mike Branham says they have no leads on the case, but Detective Jim Slone is interviewing neighbors. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Department.
