Man Wanted On Sexual Misconduct Charges

Last updated on Friday, October 7, 2011

(GREENE COUNTY) - The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is looking for 21-year-old Tyler J. Richardson.

Richardson is wanted on a warrant for sexual misconduct with a minor. The warrant was issued Wednesday by Greene Superior Court Judge Dena Martin.

Richardson is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl on March 21 at a rural Linton home.

Court records say Richardson spent an evening drinking with a group juveniles before the incident happened. The owners of the residence - the parents of one of the juveniles - were out of town in Florida and the group entered the residence through an unlocked back door to swim in a hot tub, according to the probable cause affidavit filed by Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Chris McDonald.

The alleged sexual encounter took place in a downstairs bedroom. The girl went to bed and then Richardson came into the room and asked if she was asleep. He then allegedly got into bed with her.

The teen said she took off her jeans and Richardson undressed and then they had sex.
She told police Richardson used a condom and it was found by police in a bathroom trash can.

The teen told officials she was intoxicated and didn't remember everything that happened, according to the affidavit.

Richardson told police he had sex with the girl, but he he said the girl was the aggressor. Richardson told police he didn't provide the alcohol and that it was already at the home.

"Tyler said he was intoxicated that night and since she was all over him it really didn't matter to him how old she was," Deputy McDonald wrote in the affidavit.

Richardson has another unrelated criminal charge pending in Superior Court.

On Sept. 6, he was charged with resisting law - a class C misdemeanor. That case was set for an initial hearing Sept. 30, and Richardson did not appear.
