(LYONS) - 45-year-old Allan Kirkley, of rural Lyons, is accused of molesting an 8-year-old boy.
Charges were filed Monday in Greene County Circuit Court and Kirkley was arrested Tuesday morning. Kirkley is being held without bond, pending an initial hearing.
Kirkley is alleged to have engaged in sexual conduct with the young boy on June 17 at a river cabin where Kirley lives.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the boy's mother traveled with the boy and his sister to Kirkley's cabin. Police say that Kirkley has known the family for about 10 years.
The mother told police that Kirkly took her son on a 4-wheeler ride. The two were gone for about 30 minutes and when they came back, the boy was quiet and acted funny. Then, when the group was watching television, Kirkley put his hand on the boy's shorts and the mother asked Kirkley to stop touching her son, which he did. The mother and children left a short time later, but as they left Kirkley told the boy to "remember their secret."
The next day the boy told his mother about the "secret" and said Kirkley had anal sex with him when they went on the 4-wheeler ride. Kirkley and the boy stopped in a field and Kirkley pulled down the boy's pants laid him across the 4-wheeler and had sex with him. The boy told police, "it hurt and he screamed for his mommy... and Kirkley told him to shut up." Kirkley then allegedly told the boy not to tell anyone it was their secret.
Kirkley has denied the allegations.
