Jurors To Hear Testimony In Child Molesting Case

(BEDFORD) - Jurors will begin hearing testimony in Lawrence County Superior Court II this morning. The 8 women and 4 men will determine if Merle Moore is guilty of molesting a then 12-year-old girl.

According to a probable cause affidavit the girl called 911 on July 27, 2010 to report Moore had touched her under her shirt and down her pants.

The girl told police Moore tried to convince her that the touching was an accident and it would not happen again.

Moore is charged with two counts of child molesting, both Class A felonies. He is being represented by public defenders John Plummer III and John Plummer Jr., Prosecutor Michelle Woodward and Chief Deputy Prosecutor Tim Sledd are presenting the case for the state.
