Haunted House To Raise Money For Humane Society

Last updated on Friday, October 7, 2011

(BLOOMFIELD) - Every weekend in October Frightmares will raise money for the Greene County Humane Society.

This year's theme for the haunted house is "Your Worst Nightmares." Around 30 volunteers assist in providing the scares.

The volunteers hope to raise around $3,000 from the event, says organizer Kegan Inman, a member of the Humane Society's board of directors.

Frightmares LLC is located at 689 A St. Southwest, the former Bender Building near Kinnett Auto Sales.

Weekend shows are held from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Halloween night will bring a short showing from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for kids ages 11 and younger.

Last weekend 90 people attended and the group raised around $100 for the Humane Society.

The group spent the summer scrapping metal and raised $3,000 to assemble the haunted house.

On Oct. 22, a familiar fiend, broadcasting's legendary horror movie host Sammy Terry will appear at the event. He will be there for four hours signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
