Fire Destroyed Home In Odon

Last updated on Friday, October 28, 2011

(ODON) - A Wednesday morning house fire in Odon is under investigation, according to Odon Fire Chief Leo Simmons.

He said the state fire marshal's office had investigators on the scene Thursday trying to determine the cause of the blaze. The house is located at 302 N. East St. and owned by Preston Ainscough, according to Simmons. He said Ainscough's wife was home when the fire broke out, but was able to get out and call 9-1-1.

Her call was received by dispatchers at 7:01 a.m., and firefighters were on the scene until 1:15 p.m. The home was a total loss, Simmons said. No other structures were affected.

Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid. A sheriff's deputy, Odon Town Marshal and Southwest Medical also were on the scene.
