(BEDFORD) - Not only is Maple Park getting new playground equipment, the park at 415 J St. was renamed Shane Ahmed Memorial Park in honor of the 1997 BNL graduate killed in Afghanistan on Nov. 14, 2010.
The new playground equipment should be in Bedford today and installed Monday or Tuesday, weather permitting, says Mike Mitchell, director of parks.
The Bedford Urban Enterprise Association purchased the equipment with the help from a $4,200 matching grant from the Lawrence County Community Foundation.
