Bedford Man Arrested After Attempting To Rob Jewelry Store

(BEDFORD) - 22-year-old Michael Simmons, of 2217 H Street, was arrested Friday night, after police searched his house.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley say Simmons cut a hole in the roof of J. Howard Jewelers on James Avenue. Nothing was taken from the store.

After serving a search warrant at Simmons home, he was arrested and charged with attempted burglary. He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail around 5:30 p.m.
