(DAVIESS COUNTY) - Two people are hurt and one person arrested in a 4-vehicle crash in Daviess County.

According to police, just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, 60-year-old Terry Lee Frakes of Farmersburg was speeding in a 2006 Mack dump truck east on U.S. 50 between Montgomery and Loogootee when he came upon three vehicles stopped.

The dump truck hit the rear of a 99 Dodge Caravan driven by 43-year-old Glenda Ritchie of Loogootee. Ritchie and her passenger, 54 year old Gary Ritchie were both injured. Glenda had cuts and bruising to her knee and lower legs, while Gary had minor bleeding to his face. The crash forced the van off of the south side of the roadway.

The impact from the Ritchie vehicle pushed it forward into the rear of a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 18 year old Anthony Elmes of Mitchell. He was not hurt.

The Elmes car then slid into a trailer pulled by a pickup truck driven by 38-year-old David Dilger of Jasper. The 2001 Chevrolet Pickup truck is owned by Patoka Equipment in Celestine. Dilger was not hurt.

Frakes was transported to Daviess Community Hospital where he tested positive for drugs. He is charged with a Class D Felony of operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in serious bodily injury and for unsafe speed.

The dump truck he drove is owned by Kennedy Trucking of Shelburn.
