Last updated on Friday, September 30, 2011

(SEYMOUR) - 39-year-old Robert S. Lucas, of Seymour, was arrested for dealing heroin.

Lucas was charged with two Class A felonies of dealing a schedule I controlled substance and one Class B felony of the same charge.

He was charged with A felonies because he was allegedly dealing drugs within 1,000 feet of a church or school.

Detective Capt. Carl Lamb says Lucas was driving to Indianapolis, picking up heroin and bringing it to Jackson County to sell. Police arrested Lucas after a year and half investigation.

"We learned he is one of the biggest suppliers of heroin in the area," Lamb said.

Lucas is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $250,000 bond.
