According to a probable cause affidavit, on August 17 Jerry Wilson tried to use his MainSource Bank Visa debit card at an ATM machine in Worthington.

Wilson told police that when he inserted his card the screen failed to request a PIN number and would not allow Wilson to get his card back. Wilson went to police after several unauthorized charges appeared on his online bank statement.

Crichfield told police he drove to the bank ATM maching and noticed the debit card sticking out of the machine. Crichfield took the card and continued with his banking.
