Man Attempts To Rob Bedford Convenience Store

Last updated on Wednesday, September 21, 2011

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police Officers are looking for a man who attempted to rob Hoosier Pete gas station Tuesday night.

BPD Assistant Chief Joe DeWees says a man wearing an orange mask entered the store, on Mitchell Road, around 10:46 p.m. and began waving a gun at the cashier demanding money.

That's when another employee exited a bathroom, scaring the robber who then ran from the building.

BPD Sgt Mike Johnson brought police dog North to the store and North was able to track the man for a while, but then the man's trail went no where.

DeWees says officers are following up on leads this morning. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bedford Police Department at 275-3311.
