(MITCHELL) - Little Miss, Mini Miss and Junior Miss Persimmon Festival Queens were crowned Monday night at the 65th Annual Persimmon Festival.
The results for Mini:
Queen - Dacey Axsom
Princess Court: Abby Brothers; Autumn Holmes; Kathryn Dominique; Madison Smith; Mylea Slone; Riley Richison.
Miss Congeniality is Angeleigh Arroyo.
The results for Little Miss:
Queen - Lauryn Davis
Princess Court: Hanna Pugh; Hayden Dersch; Madison Williams; Mandie Learner; Peyton Beaty; Trinity Howell.
Miss Congeniality is Addison Myers.
The results for Junior:
Queen - Abigail Guthrie
Princess Court - Aliza Hall; Gabrielle Gaines; Josie LaFevor; Linda Jamison; Madison McNeely.
Miss Congeniality is Mackenzie Osborne
Twenty-girls competed for the title in the younger age groups, with 14 girls in the Junior Miss contest.
Little Miss is grades kindergarten Mini Miss is grades first to second grade. Little Miss is grades third to fifth. Junior Miss is sixth to Eighth.
Those doing the judging were from out of town and did not know the girls last names or who their parents are, says Teresa Reynolds, chairwoman for the event.
"This is a very important component of the contest since we are looking at the girl's accomplishments and not who their family is or how well known the family is in the community," she added.
