State Trooper Struck By Alleged Drunk Driver

(MARTINSVILLE)- A K-9 state trooper is recovering after being struck by an alleged drunk driver in Morgan County.

Master Trooper Dan Hearon was on patrol with his K-9 partner, Samson, early Saturday when he was hit by an SUV, driven by Billy Patterson.

Trooper Hearon was air-lifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The K-9 was taken to a local veterinarian clinic and later released.

Patterson was arrested following the incident.
