Radio Personality Dies

(OOLITIC) - Radio personality Jim Ingalls died Monday from heart complications. Ingalls known for his news coverage and out-going personality will be missed by the radio world.

Ingalls, 57, of Oolitic, died at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis at 6:19 p.m.

Ingalls view on life was "Always look on the bright side, it makes the day go better."

Those that worked with Ingalls said he was an "all around good guy."

Ingalls was employed at Sunrise Greetings in Bloomington as a business development representative at the time of his death. But Ingalls loved radio and had a long history with several local stations.

From September 2007 till 2009 Ingalls was the news director at WGCL radio in Bloomington. He wrote and produced local and regional news.

From Oct. 2003 till Aug. 2007 Ingalls was the news director at WBIW, WQRK, WPHZ radio in Bedford.

From April 1983 to Sept. 2003 Ingalls served as office manager at WFLQ radio in French Lick.

Ingalls was a 1972 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and attended Vincennes University, Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College.

Ingalls was a history buff and enjoyed the Smithsonian Institute and Indiana state parks and reservoirs.

His favorite quote was from 1Corinthians, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Funeral services are pending at Ferguson Lee Funeral Home in Bedford.
