Bloomington Man Charged With Murder

(BLOOMFIELD) - Bloomington native Randy Knapp is charged with murder in the death of 28-year-old Stacey Lawson.

54-year-old Randy L. Knapp, of Bloomington, was formally charged with murder, criminal confinement and obstruction of justice. The three felony charges were filed early Friday morning.

Knapp has been held at the Monroe County Jail on a preliminary charge of residential entry since Sunday.

Lawson's body was found in a wooded area of Greene County Saturday afternoon. The body was found near Newark Baptist Church.

According to the Greene County Daily World, the probable cause affidavit indicates Lawson died from blunt force trauma.

The police report says Lawson was killed with a large geode rock that had been displayed by her brother's gravesite. Lawson's body was found a short distance away from the cemetery.
