Amish Buggy and Car Collide

(PAOLI) - Two people were injured when a car hit an Amish buggy at the intersection of State Road 56 and Lynd Road in Paoli.

Amanda Wilkerson, 27, of Paoli, the driver of the car, was transported by ambulance to IU Health Paoli Hospital for treatment. Simon Lambright, 25, of Orleans, the driver of the buggy, was taken to IU Health Paoli Hospital and then transferred by ambulance to University Hospital in Louisville.

The accident happened at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday night.

Orange County Sheriff's Department Public Relations Officer Bill Fullington, said accordng to witness statements, Wilkerson was traveling west on State Road 56 and was approaching the intersection of Lynd Road when she encountered the horse-drawn buggy in the roadway.

Fullington said the crash is under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
