Monroe County Police Make First K-2, Spice Arrest

Last updated on Friday, July 29, 2011

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Monroe County Police have made their first arrest for possession of K2.

The synthetic cannabinoid, also known as Spice has been illegal in Indiana since July 1st.

28-year-old Stephanie M. Jacobs was booked into the Monroe County Jail.

Officers originally noticed that Jacobs was impaired and slow to respond to verbal direction.

Due to the new law, those caught having, dealing, or manufacturing the synthetic weed will find themselves prosecuted as if they had been dealing with real marijuana.
