Last updated on Tuesday, July 12, 2011

(ORANGE COUNTY) - Thieves are hitting Orange County hard and law enforcement officials are asking for help from residents in identifying the criminals.

Recent thefts include items such as ATV's lawn mowers, dirt bikes and articles which can be sold as scrap metal.

If you happen to encounter anyone on or near your property, try to get as much information as you can then call 911 immediately.

License plate numbers, vehicle descriptions and descriptions of those involved are very helpful in finding the criminals.

People are also encouraged to keep an eye on your neighbor's properties as well, because the more eyes watching properties the better.
