Last updated on Thursday, June 9, 2011

(BEDFORD, IN) - The driver of the pickup truck that struck a Bedford North Lawrence High School student along U.S. 50 nearly a year ago has officially been charged with drunken driving resulting in Bodily injury.

Police say that 24-year-old Chad Reynolds was booked into the jail on Tuesday for the July 22nd incident.

Joel Clampitt and several other BNL cross country runners were running along the highway when Reynolds' vehicle veered off the north side of the road and struck Clampitt.

Police say that Reynolds had no memory of the incident following the wreck.

The student was flown to an Indianapolis hospital and has since recovered.
