Extreme Heat Putting Many At Risk

Last updated on Tuesday, June 7, 2011

(UNDATED) - The extreme heat is putting people on-guard for the possibilities of heat stroke and heat exhaustion.

Dr. Dylan Cooper is an emergency room doctor with I.U. Health and says they're already seeing people coming in with symptoms.

Cooper says people will experience dizziness, confusion, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and the chills.

He says while most people can recover quickly, heat-related illness can be fatal

Hydration, getting out of the sun and into air-conditioning are just a few simple steps to recovery.
