(UNDATED) - Emergency rooms are seeing a much higher number of cases of people using bath salts to get high.
Bath salts are sold legally but come with a disclaimer that they're not for internal use.
Dr. James Mowry, Director for the Indiana Poison Center at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital says people who use bath salts to get high can experience very strong hallucinations.
Mowry says the use of bath salts to get high can be extremely addictive with results similar to meth on a much larger scale.
He says anyone known to be using bath salts to get high needs to be taken to the emergency room immediately.
He says there are drugs to counteract the symptoms but they usually need to be used in higher doses.
