Last updated on Tuesday, May 31, 2011

(VALLONIA, IN) - More than a dozen thefts were reported this weekend at Starve Hollow campgrounds in Jackson County.

Following a brief police chase by one of the men, two suspects are now in custody for the crimes.

Officers say that at least 17 camp sites reported their belongings had been stolen.

When the two men pushed a moped from the campground toward the overflow parking lot at around 2:00AM, a nearby security guard became suspicious.

30-year-old Brandon Peters was arrested.

His accomplice, 18-year-old Gavin Goens, fled the park at around 80 mph and was later apprehended after striking a deer and running off of the roadway.
