Detectives say that the trio battered and robbed the man.

The man told police he saw a vehicle parked beside the road with the hood up and pulled up beside the three men standing there and asked if they needed help.

Police are asking that anyone who saw anything possibly related to the attack is asked to call police at 358-2141.
