Salvation Army Workers Extend Helping Hand

Last updated on Thursday, May 26, 2011

(UNDATED) - The Salvation Army is responding quickly to Wednesday night’s destructive storms.

Mike Rowland says two canteens are stationed in Bedford, while another is in Greensburg. All three are being used to help emergency responders and storm victims.

Rowland says the canteens can serve up to 2,000 meals a day and provide water. Rowland says Salvation Army workers and volunteers are also providing human comfort to those hit hardest by the devastation.

The Salvation Army has offices in all 92 counties.
