Shooting Victim Released From Hospital

(MARTINSVILLE, IN) - The teen shot at Martinsville West Middle School has been released from the hospital.

15-year old Chance Jackson has been moved to another location to receive medical care.

He is able to speak with family members and his now walking as part of his recovery.

The family says due to his internal injuries, he has a very long road to recovery and will face lifelong medical issues.

The family says they have every faith in the criminal justice system and believe that Prosecutor Steve Sonnega has done a good job in helping support the family and pursue justice.

The family said in a statement, "we sincerely feel for the Phelps family as well during this horrible time."

15-year old Michael Phelps faces 6 charges, including attempted murder and will be tried as an adult.
